No Domain controller was available...

David Coleman

In the days of 95 & 98 the "no domain controller was available to validate
your logon" message was a good way for users to realise that something was
wrong - although the message is there in XP it's hidden in the System event
log - is there a way to get this message to appear when the domain
controller can't be found, rather than trying to get the user to use Event
viewer?

Many thanks

David

it is because w2k/xp use cached credentials so that you can logon without
connecting to the domain. you may try disable this feature. How? I need find
the document and will publish on http://www.ChicagoTech.net .
