no D drive available

hi everyone,

new to the group. i lost my D Drive. it does not show in "My computer" and does not recognize any CD's that are in the drive. please help

When you boot up your system does the light flash on you CD Drive. If not there may be a loose connection or the Drive may need to be replaced. Turn your computer off. Open the case. Ground yourself by touching something metal(to release any static charge) and check all the connections comming from the power supply and going to the CD Drive. If all is OK and you reboot and it still doesn't show it needs to be replaced. These are fairly inexpensive. I recommend a CD Burner/DVD Drive Combo if you do not have either of these now. Hope this helps.
