No cursor at Welcome Screen login

I have an intermittent problem with not getting a cursor at the WinXP Home
Welcome Screen login box when I log out of one account and try to log back
in. I have read several forums about this and have found the recommended fix
for this: "Type 'regsvr32 shgina.dll' into the Run Box and press Enter."
does not work for me. Do you have to do this in every account or just in the
Admin account as I have done? Has anyone solved this problem??

Hi Sunny,

As you said, it's an intermittent problem reported by many others in this newsgroup, and remains unresolved yet. Was this problem seen after installing a particular software, or a particular update from AU/WU? Only option that I can think of is to do a System Restore rollback to a date when the problem was not seen.

Thanks for your reply. I can not relate this problem to any particular
update. I have been noticing it for about a month.
