No Current Favorites are in Docs&Settings

I have placed my clients hard drive in my desktop, so I can transfer all her
data to her new laptop. I transferred the favorites from \docs and
settings\username but there were very few there and they were years old. She
claims that she has hundreds of favorites bookmarked and adds new ones all
the time.

Where else can I look for them? I have already checked the other user logins
on the drive and everything is 2004 and older, 2005-2006 is totally missing
from all Favorites

Hi Eliki,
She could have placed them anywhere. There is a registry setting under
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\User Shell Folders
that will tell you definately where it is.
My gues it is probably in her windows folder or documents folder.
If at a total loss do a search for *.lnk file types.
BTW. I assume these are IE Favorites and not FireFox or Netscape favorites.

Hi elike,

In addition:

- look for *.url files (*.lnk are Windows shortcuts, not internet
sghortcuts)
- look for bookmark.htm (NS and FF style bookmarks)

Open IE > File > Import and Export > Export Favorites.
