No Camera Wizard

I've read through the fixes on the answer to "Roberts Family" dated 2/12/05,
but still can't get the Camera Wizard to come up automatically. When I plug
the camera into its USB cable, I hear the camera chirp, then hear the PC
chirp, and then for an instant I see the cursor get the hourglass and then
back to the arrow. It looks like something is stomping on the Autoplay
Wizard, and Real Player (any version) isn't installed on this PC. The camera
(Pentax Optio 230) shows up in My Computer, and if I right-click it I can
choose Autoplay from the menu, but this is a police station and the cops
aren't usually patient enough to go through those hoops. Going into the
"drive" itself and setting AutoPlay preferences doesn't help, they don't get
saved (even if logged in as local admin). Any other ideas?

Thank you John, but I should have said I'd already downloaded and run the
Autoplay Repair Tool... it made no difference. It goes through its process
and says everything is set correctly, and the log afterwards gives a value of
"none" for fixes. I honestly don't think the problem is with Autoplay
itself... I really think there's another program that's stomping on it.
