No auto search in address bar

E. Brent Price

After I removed 180 Search Assistant with Noadware I still don't have auto
search in my address bar. It goes to 'The page cannot be displayed."

I can still type in 'sitename.com' and get auto http and www and all that.
Ideas?

Hi E. Brent Price :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Autosearch has stopped working.
Go to tools>internet options>advanced and scroll down to the "Search from
the address bar" section. Choose your preferred option.

also......

In order to restore you default Search functions, download and run the
program below. You will have to redo any customized features you may have
added afterward.

Close IE, copy the bold to Notepad, save as Search.reg (save as 'all files',

Two steps and I'm done! Yeah! Thank you. I offer you my first born son.
You should know he's 31.

I want to thank you both for this series of postings. I have been struggling
with this problem for a few weeks now and I couldn't find anything relevant
in the Microsoft KB that would help me. I will try this on my computer later
tonight and keep my fingers crossed!

Well, as it turns out I must have had bigger problems or something. It
didn't fix the problem. The only thing I found that would do the trick was
reinstalling the OS.

Thanks again anyway Jan. ;-)
