no alerts for my msn.com account in outlook 2007

TJ

I have a msn account which I am using in Outlook 2007 and everything works
great except I cannot get audio or visual alerts for incoming mail. What do
I need to do in order to make it work with my msn account?

Thanks TJ

Are you using the Outlook Connector? Is this your default email account?

while it normally works for default accounts, you may not get the alerts for
non-pop3 accounts. I think I remember getting the blue "toast" for connector
accounts - just not the envelope or sound.

What is blue "toast?"

So are you saying there is no work around to this issue with non-pop3
accounts?

Please exuse my limited knowledge but aren't these two MSN and Microsoft
Office Outlook from the same parent company?

Are Hotmail email accounts a non-pop3 accounts too?

Thanks

Blue toast-> New Mail Desktop Alert

Do you also happen to have a Personal Folder configured with Outlook and is
that folder set holding the Outlook Today icon and page?

How can I get Blue Toast?

I am not sure what you mean regarding "Personal Folder configured with
Outlook and is that folder set holding the Outlook Today icon and page"

"Personal Folder configured with Outlook" When I setup the MSN account it
created standard folders for incoming and outgoing mail. Every month I move
the incoming mail and outgoing mail to another personal folder I created so I
can have these files on my harddrive and also not to bogged down Outlook with
load some many emails.

What is Outlook Today icon and page.

Thank you for considering my question. I was never able to solve my problem:
I have a msn account which I am using in Outlook 2007 and everything works
great except I cannot get audio or visual alerts for incoming mail.
Most of the answers spoke about Blue Toast and other jargon I was not
fimilar with so I started asking the meaning of the jargon and in the process
my question never got answered.

Thanks
Timothy

Thanx TJ. I asked the question again: "Outlook 2007 NO sound notification
with Hotmail HTTP mail" If I get an answer, I'll try to let you know. DN
