nfl.com site uses lots of cpu resources, why?

Try visiting nfl.com with task manager running. Note that the IE process
uses 50%-100% of CPU resources even after the page fully loads.

Is your experience the same? What gives with this page??? Too busy with
animations?? What can be done in IE to reduce the demands??

I agree the alterative is attractive.

What's going on with nfl.com, though? Am I alone with the high CPU usage??

I see it keeping my cpu in the 10-20% range once the main page has loaded.
Its pages have several active content items, it takes some power to animate
those. 50-100% is way high.

Maybe they figure if they keep you busy with the real NFL, you won't have
any cpu cylcles left to play with a fantasy team.
