Next Available Sequence Number

Hi I'm writing a vehicle booking spreadsheet. I enter all the details o
the vehicles onto the spreadsheet, normally for the next day. When th
vehicles arrive they are manually given a load number and we load th
vehicles in load number. I don't know in what order these vehicles wil
arrive,but is there any way that by entering the vehicle registratio
for example it will automatically generate the next load number.

Example

Vehicle 1 Registration 1 Load No 11
Vehicle 2
Vehicle 3 Registration 2 Load No 3
Vehicle 4 Registration 3LOAD No 2

I'm not sure I follow: when you sayload number.
.... do you mean the vehicles are loaded in load number order?

for example it will automatically generate the next load number

If the load number is the same each time for each vehicle, then the
answer is "yes". For instance, if vehicle 23 is ALWAYS load 59, you
can create a lookup table on a separate tab, and on your vehicle
booking tab enter a VLOOKUP formula that will return the load number
when a valid vehicle number is entered.

Will that do it for you?
