Forte Agent-Best on the market, in my opinion. I've been using it for
14 years.

I also like Agent, but bear two things in mind:
1. What's best for you and me isn't necessarily what's best for him.
2. He asked for a *free* newsreader.
I have used MicroPlanet Gravity 2.71 on Win98 and now on XP-h.
It has worked very well without any problems. I suggest you try it.
