Newsletter sender / not for spamming

B

Byru

Hi, i run a small website where i offer my freeware software.
One of my programs can be registered (if user wants to) by sending me an
email message.
The registered users get e-mails informing them about updates (newsletters)
and have access to the additional content for the program (addons).

I was searching for a nice newsletter sender for over 2 years now.
What i found is:
- discountinued Mailing Manager / great - fast and tiny but doesnt support
HTML and custom character sets
- Vallen E-Mailer / also ok, supports HTML and character sets but i think MM
is faster.
- no more :(

What do You guys can recommend for such purposes? What do You use?
Everything i can find is commercial.. but i need something free.

Best regards

Mail Them, mass mailings.
http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-3356720-108-49151.html?tag=upd
Mail Them can send HTML pages with embedded graphics. You can choose
between Personal Copies or Blind Carbon Copies (BCC). BCC is
recommended for large lists or lists with attachments. Personal Copies
is recommended for personalized letters. You can send an unlimited
number of messages and attachments. Mail lists' management is extremely
easy. Mail Them supports English, Spanish, Italian, and French.

========================================

Under Outlook express--Open your Address Book.
Click on New.
Then click on "New Group"
Name your group whatever you want--you will be the only one to see it.
Then click on "Select Members"
Select who you want to send mail to---the nice thing is you can add to
or remove names from this list.

Now when you want to send a e-mail --under the "TO" put anybody's name
even your own.
Then under "BCC" click on your Group Name -- add your message--then
send--and all the names in
your list will get your mail with only their name listed--not the whole
list of names.

=================================

Create a new group in your address book, and add to the group from your
existing list. Then
when you want to send to that group, just highlight the group and right
click to send mail.

==================================

Send it to yourself, and BCC everyone else.

Since email is a text medium, that's a plus.

You write software? Write something to do what you want.

Nope, not liteware.
Registered users can download additional icon packs and skins form the
program website.
The program itself is the same unregged/regged.

Thanks for all suggestions. I downloaded them all and now will be testing
them.

Ok, i tested all of the proposed mailers PLUS several freewares i have found
on tucows.com and the result is that two the best are the ones i currently
use. All these tools just seem to be not finished or i dont know what to
say, they are all raw.

Mailing Manager and Vallen E-Mailer.

Thanks for all suggestions though

I hesitated to recommend this, since the full product is not freeware, but
you may want to download the full version of Yeah Write
(www.wordplace.com) and get a feel for the interface. The full version
has an smtp mailer included. I write book reviews, and they get
distributed to around 30 destinations. I use Yeah Write. The word
processor is pretty good (no graphics, though, I don't need them) and you
can maintain your distribution list in the address book. You can then
broadcast the newsletter to your list very easily. The full product is 29
bucks.
