I'm new to Windows Mail and am having a problem accessing newsgroups. My
ISP requires ID and a password. I thouight I had the newsgroup properties
set for this but several times a week the program forgets both my name and
password. how do I fix this?

Usually the program doesn't forget but the news server may be
experiencing temporary difficulties.
However, there is a possibility your antivirus may be interfering.
Which antivirus are you running? Some of them are not fully compatible
with Windows Mail.

Norton Antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
Symptoms often don't surface until several months have gone by, or
until an update occurs.
First, be sure to disable its email scanning, for the reason explained here:

In a worst case scenario, you may have to uninstall Norton, followed by
using their debris removal tool:

Instead of uninstalling your antivirus, another option is to upgrade to
Windows Live Mail, which is more resistant to the adverse effects of overly
intrusive antivirus products: http://download.live.com/wlmail
