news icon disappeared from command list

Trying to add Newsgroups to Go menu commands so I can invoke newreader from
within Outlook. Supposedly all you have to do is drag the news icon over to
the Go Menu from within the customize commands box. Only problem is- after
selecting "Go" in the categories column, there is no news icon in the
command column to be able to drag over to the Go menu! Any idea how to get
it back or some other way to do this?

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and then click the No
button.

You may need to reset the Menu Bar and/or restart Outlook and/or reboot your
machine in order to complete the process. Not everyone is reporting success
with this method, but try it and see what happens. If all else fails, you
can always create a desktop shortcut to Outlook Express and include the
/outnews switch -- that gives you the same result as accessing the
newsreader via the News command in Outlook.

OK, thanks Milly! That was easy enough and worked like a charm. I may have
to check in with you from time to time since I am just getting started using
Outlook on my personal computer at home. Switching over from OE6. Keep up
the good work.
