Newly installed vista crashes when connecting dial up.

After updating Xp to Vista on my Inspiron E1405, when I try to connect to the
internet via dial-up, I get a blue screen stop error (An attempt to write to
read-only memory ----0x000000BE----ndis.sys). I can connect fine via
wireless. Any guesses on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

After you upgraded to Vista, did you then install the Vista drivers for your
hardware? If not, you need to do so. Go to Dell's website and download all
the drivers - chipset (motherboard), modem, video, audio, network, etc. It
would seem that the modem drivers are at fault.
