newbie: what means -> persistent (net use - command)

dear w2k gurus,
can someone please explain, what the persistent option means. i saw it in a
logon script and didn't get wiser by the help text.

It means, don't try to remap it automatically next time the user logs in -
let the login script do it. It's a good thing.
