Katrina

hello, i'm new to using MS Access and have created a
database to keep track of the training classes taken by
staff. when i run the report for what classes have been
taken by each employee all my records are jumbled if the
employee has the same first name. some of my reports are
even mixing the first and last name of different
employees...help!

We would need more information on what your query and reports are pulling.
How is the report sorted?

In your detail section, you should have an unbound field with something
like...

= [EmpLastName] & ", " & [EmpFirstName]

This might be in the group header if you are sorting by employee name and
want to print the name at the top of each section. In this case, make sure
your sort option in the report design is correct. It needs to be sorted by
=[lastname]&[firstname] or something similar. This could result in a
report like...

Smith, John
04/01/03 Introduction to....
09/14/03 Advanced Techni....

Wilson, Phil
07/12/03 Introduction to...

Please post back a more specific question. Include what is happening, what
records you are pulling, and what your sort looks like.

Thanks,

Rick
