Newbie to VS.NET 2003

I have just finished installing VS.NET 2003 and have begun running through
"Getting Started" book.

I have a project in mind that will incorporate a VB script I have written
which loads an Excel spreadsheet with AD info. I then have to import that
info into Access and develop the reports. I would like to put together an
application that does all this for me automatically, since I will be turning
over the reporting function to our IS Department and they need to be able to
"single-click" for the reports.

So my question here is, which forum would be best to join and ask questions,
especially since I am brand new to VS?

Thanks....

Thunder,

Why do you need VSNet for this.

In my opinion is all you needed probably in office development?

Microsoft.public.office.developper

There are a lot however not so active while this one

Microsoft.public.excel.developping is

one of the most active non dotnet newsgroups.

2 reasons; one, because I want to provide my IS people with the easiest
solution possible; and, second, because I want to learn....

Since you appear to be familiar with Visual Basic script, it may be easier
for you to use VB.Net.

I would suggest posting questions to the
microsoft.public.dotnet.languages.vb newsgroup.

Good Luck and Welcome to .Net!

Thunder,

I had that idea, you are not the first who trys this.

However this is one of the hardest projects you start with.

In my opinion not really the best to learn.

When you want to rewrite that script you can go for VBNet, otherwise when
you only want to use it, than it does not matter what program language you
take. They way to reach all your told goals will not be easy.

(Because it is normally done in the way I gave you the links to, so there
will probably not be much total expirience)

However feel free to do what you want.

I hope this helps
