Newbie question

We have a customer that wants to gain access to a couple of applications
on our network. They want to do this over the Internet. The solution
seems to be something like Terminal Services or pcAnywhere. I know how
pcAnywhere works but I am pretty clueless on TS. pcAnywhere would work
if the only wanted to use a single connection at a time but they will
probably want several people connected at once.

My first question is, can TS be accessed via the Internet? Second, if
this is possible, what software is required and is it a major security
risk to open this to the Internet.

Any ideas, info or references you can give would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Greg

Once you have TS set up on a server, it can be accessed
over the internet. How is your site connected? Usually
you just have to open a port on the firewall.

Thanks for the reply. We are on a DSL connection. When we set this up,
we will probably look at upgrading to something faster. I know how to
open and forward traffic on our firewall so that won't be a problem.

How does this access take place? Does the remote user need a TS client
of some kind installed or can it be with a thin client (IE)? Then I
assume the user just points his client or IE at the IP address?

Thanks again for helping.
