Newbie question

OK, what is a registry shell? All the online support stuff assumes I know
this. I know that not knowing this disqualifies me from playing around in
my registry, but I can't get my IT guy to fix a vulnerability in a shell
(nor ad-aware) and my admin keeps getting tons of scumware.

I keep smacking my hand away from deleting the whole folder and hoping for
the best. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Just FYI: I do (somehow) have permissions to regedit, I just don't know what

I'm not a total newbie...I've edited the registry on my PC. I just don't
know what the fup a shell is, how it gets comprimised, or how to fix it. I
do, however, know how to delete it. I am trying not to go there. Hence
this posting. And I did contact my IT guy--no response. And please PLEASE
don't patronize me--it's fupping insulting.

Thanks for no help, everybody. I collared my IT guy and had him explain it
on his way out of the office. Still don't know how to correct a comprimised
shell if anybody feels like being generous with their knowledge. I'll trade
you literary/historical/political/musical (1965-1995) knowledge if you
want.
