newbie question:crossover cable and accessing file ?

I connect 2 pc using crossover cable, and set up the ip 192.168.0.1 for
1st pc, 192.168.0.2 for 2nd pc and also subnet 255.255.255.0 for both.

One PC is using xp home,and the other is using win2k.
Question: How can i access the file now? Can anyone explain it to me
step by step?
