Newbie - How to make 2 computers connected

AK

I have 2 laptops with wireless cards. At home I have them on the network
thru my wireless router.

Can I make the 2 computers (cordlessly) connect over the wireless without
having the router. Is this what they call peer to peer?

How do I do this. Is there a setting/widard in the xp that sets this up for
me

Thanks

If they are both connect wireless via your router, they are already
connected. If you want to connect as in peer-to-peer, I think you
can setup an adhoc connection between the two computers.

Peer-to-peer means any computers in a network that are not on a domain
controller - the OP already HAS a peer-to-peer network.......

Why would you want to do this. Using a router is the best way. Youy can
setup an ad-hoc network but these are limited compared to a router. Also
with the router you can share the internet connection (assuming the router
has a modem built in) with both computers using the internet independantly.
If you are having problems with the router repost and someone can advise.
