I play a lot of online sim racing, F1 2016, F1 2017, Project Cars 1/ 2, rFactor and RaceRoom Racing Experience. The one thing I hate is with online racing you get a lot of cheats and buthurt player who don't like it when you are better than them. I want to set up my own server within Assetto Corsa. That way I get to filter out the real drivers from those that just want to crash people out. Problem is when setting up a server you need port forwarding. I am with TalkTalk and have the bog standard Huawei HG533. Port forwarding on that sucks.
A big ask but are there routers out there where port forwarding is easier to set up ??

I think port forwarding will be a similar process on most routers, unfortunately. I had a look at how it works on the HG533 and it looks fairly similar to how it worked on my Draytek:

I've got little experience with port forwarding, but perhaps someone else has a router where it's easier :).

Where were you running in to problems with port forwarding and I might be able to help. The first thing I'd suggest doing is giving your PC a fixed IP address, so that the port can be reliably forwarded each time.

I struggled a little bit with port forwarding. It worked for a while then seemed to stop or cause issues with other items so I took it off after a few weeks.

I'm using the VM superhub VMDG480, I do have a 490 as well but it's sat in a box so not tried with that
