new ,reply and foward buttons are grayed out

I have office 2003 pro. I backed up the data and uninstalled office because
it would not allow me to install any service packe or updates. I rebooted my
pc and installed a fresh copy of office 2003 pro. when I opened up outlook
all my orginal settings were already there. I can recive emai.

all my buttons that apply to sending and fowarding email are grayed out. I
have all the latest serices packs and updated installed. The send and recive
button works fine.

how do I get the send button to not be grayde out

Were this to happen to me, I'd start with a new mail profile and recreate my
mail account(s).
