New Office Access in 2006

The computer magazines are now starting to leak features in the release
later this year of latest Office with Access. It sounds like there will be
some improved reporting (thank goodness) and it sounds like the wizards to
create cross tab queries will be improved (I always thought they were a bit
confusing) plus the entire look will be changed into a more tabbed interface
(More modern).

Anyone here that can tell me a reference area that has any more details?

And why hasn't Microsoft created an Access database for my PDA - what's the
story there. I am using SmartList for my Treo but thought Microsoft would
have been interested in making some bucks there too. It can link to a my
access databases but it isn't like Word or Excel that I can drag and drop. I
could find nothing on their site.

A good link, and blog from the actual developers team can be read here:

There is lots of goodies if you dig through the above material.

There is a good number of products already out there..and they are cheap. On
the other hand, are you talking about a palm based treo, or a Pc based one?
I don't think Microsoft makes any software for the palm unit...so, I not
surprised one bit that you can't find any Microsoft products for a OS that
has NO MS software available (You can correct me if I am wrong, but
that Treo I "think" is Palm based..and thus you are talking about a product
that NEVER had any software FROM Micsofot that runs on that unit???).

On the other hand, ms-access is quite large system, and would not fit
very well on a pda anyway.

However, there is a number of applications for pda's that work very well
with ms-access.

The one that comes to mind here is pendragon. When you launch
pendragon forms on your pc..it actually loads ms-access (so, they work very
well together). For building some basic forms and syncing data both
ways from your palm based unit to ms-access, pengradon is a fine solution
for you.
