new menu does not appear in the toolbar

HI,

I have a question here and could not figure out what went wrong. I have
created a new menu that should show up in the toolbar in a template. When
opening a new document (that's referenced to the template), it didn't get
displayed in the toolbar. At first, i thought i might expand by clicking on
the arrows because sometimes it gets hidden somewhere but was unable to find
it there. In the end, i figured that the only way to get it up display in the
toolbar is do the following:

go to view, toolbars, customised and close the customised dialog

Then, it showed up in the toolbar. How bizarre is that?

Then, i closed the document and open a new document again. The same issue
comes up again - it did not appear again in the toolbar. Do you think it
might be to do with registry. I did not change the registry but just export
the settings .

I use office 03.

Thank you in advance

You're opening a new document based on the template and the menu is not
displayed? Are you sure you saved the menu in that template? What was "Save
in" set to when you created the menu? Was the template open for editing at
the time?

Thank you Suzanne for your reply.

Yes, i created a new menu called "Template list" and located it in the
formatting toolbar. I did this when opening the mytemplate.dot. I already
checked that it was saved in "mytemplate.dot". Then, i closed the template
and re-open it. That "Template list" menu was not displayed in the Formatting
toolbar. The only way to get it displayed again is to open the customize
dialog box via View, Toolbars, Customize. When the customize dialog pop up,
close it. You would then be able to see the menu displayed in the toolbars. I
think i have done the right thing here.

Would you be able to generate the same problem on your word application?

Honestly, it all worked fine before. The menu was displayed and everything
was fine until i went to save my settings via saving my settings wizard under
microsoft office tools and export registry. But i don't think i made any
tweaking apart from what i already said.

Thank you in advance

That does sound weird, but I would probably not be able to help with it. You
might want to post in the microsoft.public.word.customization.menustoolbars
newsgroup.
