new mail notification for messages not in the Inbox

How do I get an alert when new messages arrive when a rule moves incoming
mail to a folder other than the Inbox? The new mail notification only seems
to work on messages that arrive in the Inbox. The "Display a New Mail
Desktop Alert" option says "(default Inbox only)", so that makes it sound
like you can change that but I can't find how.

I'd be happy with just the plain old "new message has arrived" popup message
from 2000. Any

Include the "display a desktop alert" action in the rule.

Enough people objected to this behavior that Microsoft changed it for OL
2003.

Of course I just found the answer myself. My rules were never upgraded from
2000 to 2003 since I never went to the Rules and Alerts menu. The new 2003
rules menu has notification options where you can setup a alert window to
popup, play a sound, or display a Desktop Alert.
