New Mail Alert w/out Outlook Running

We have been using Groupwise at my office for a long time and I have finally
got everyone to switch to Outlook, but Groupwise had this program called
Notify that ran at startup silently as a process and it would notify you when
new mail arrived. No one had to have Groupwise open at all for this to work.
Is there any type of add on that anyone knows of that will do this for
Outlook 2003?

This may do what you want:

Google took all of threee seconds to find it.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Ann asked:

Great job guys, and you even win the smart ass award. I really don't see the
reason for the remarks. I found these also so I guess I will a bit more
clear. I was looking for some insight as to what people thought was actually
a good product to use and hopfully avoid putting some useless junk on my
machine that screws it up and doesn't even work. Believe it or not I am not
an idiot and I do know how to google things. Thanks again for the great
insight into my problem.

But that wasn't your original question, now was it? Besides, certainly the
link http://www.slipstick.com/addins/notify.htm fulfills the "people thought
was actually a good product", since the author of that page probably would
not have included any items they thought were worthless.
