My motherboard died, so I decided to upgrade the processor and video card as
well. And as you know, you cannot use your old install of windows. So I
was trying to repair my current installation so the correct drivers and info
would be in it, but my computer crashed. This rendered the current intall of
XP useless. So my only options were to reformat with a fresh install, or put
a fresh install over the current install. I opted for the second option
because i had 80+ gb of music, video and documents that I didnt want to lose.
Luckily the new install didnt wipe out these files, but since I had them
private to my user on the last install, I cannot access them on this install.
I am using the same user name and password setup as administrator. So how
can I enable myself to see these restricted files? Do I have to edit the
registry, or are they a total loss?
Thankyou
