Sorry - don't agree. I have been using the beta of office for over a year - LOVE it.

IE 7 works well here as well.

Oh, and I take the postings of people who choose to use a pseudonym seriously... not.

The 'ribbon' is without a doubt the worst thing MS could do to office.
My whole familiar workspace is turned upside down and it takes me too
long to find what I need. Sorry, I hate it.... :'(
IE 7 works well here as well.
I do like IE7, although I still prefer to use Firefox....
Oh, and I take the postings of people who choose to use a pseudonym

Not everybody likes their whole private life all over the net...
So - don't take me seriously then.

I have an almost new copy of PeachText you can have. It works wonderfully
in DOS.... simple menu, limited feature set, but does use 26 letters and 10
numbers, What more could you want.

I don't know what you are getting at.

1.) Most people are finding IE 7 actually runs faster than IE 6
2.) There are sites that don't work under Firefox and Opera, and heck even
IE 6 as well.
3.) Moving to Firefox or Opera will suffer the same. IE 6 is gone, just like
Windows 3.11, Windows 95 and the like. Things move forward. Things that stay
the same die.

2003
--- Wah wah wah! Microsoft never do anything new. Office is stale. No
innovation

2006
--- wah wah wah! Microsoft have changed stuff. Office is different. Can't
they leave it alone?

cry me a river.

No things change all the time. Nothing remains constant,
however things can become worse also.
IE7 has some improvments, but its GUI sucks.
Read my other post about Avantbrowser AGAIN, that I clearly explain in the
post that it is a IE shell that uses the trident engine, yet you ignore
that, and you go on whining...

what a smuck!

Of course things can become worse.

However IE 7 is a major improvement over IE 6.

YOU don't like the GUI, I do.

Old enough to probably be your mother-in-law, if some poor girl was so unfortunate as to be stuck with someone as narrow-minded as you, not to mention judgemental and pedantic.

Dual monitors on my desktop, 1600x1350. (At home) Single monitor at work, same settings. I sit in front of a monitor at least 10 hours a day, doing real work and not whining because someone whose software you will proabably not use changed their interface. WAH WAH WAH!

Can't agree with statements but pictures are just hilarious :)

My take on it: The only sin of new IE/Office UIs is that they are too
different from previous versions.

Can't find your menus in IE7? Just Press Alt for Christ sake... Maxton 2
beta however took a better approach to repositioning standard toolbar IMHO.

Some people really need to get over themselves and find a real life.

I've been using IE7 since early beta and I love it. I used IE7 with XP and
now I'm using it with Vista. The new print format (auto shrink to fit) is
worth changing just by itself.

As for Office 2007, I've used that since early beta, also. To me, the
ribbons are much more concise in grouping like objects in the same area. Is
it different than previous Office editions and is there a learning curve? Of
course there is but now, I'm so comfortable with the Office 2007 set up that
when I have to work on a customer's computer which has an earlier edition, it
almost drives me crazy.

When it comes to Microsoft software, many people think the way of that old
Nixon joke I heard years ago. The press hated Nixon so much that it was said
if Nixon had walked on water, the headline the next day would have read:
"Nixon can't swim!" So it is with some people and Microsoft. No matter what
Microsoft does, these people always have negative things to say.

At least, for the ordinary user, Open Office has more of a traditional look, and its a lot less expensive than Microsoft Office.

You do understand that MVPs are NOT Microsoft employees in any way right?

All MVP's are, are people who are helping the Windows, Office, Exchange etc.
communities via peer feedback and guidance.

I don't understand why it is when someone doesn't agree with your opinion
that makes them wrong, brainwashed or strange.
