JB

in the last 3 days, after many months of using IE 6 on
windows xp PC, almost but not every time i click to open
the browser it comes up about:blank. tried a zillion
times to reset the home page to msn.com and it works for
the next start and then it goes back to about: blank. why
did this just start. have been using ms ie pop up
blocker for longer than this problem exists. also now
getting same error message when i logoff jqohaapc.exe is
not responding.

any thoughts

frank: i appreciate you are trying to help me. i don't
understand your message.

That's because you are using the old web interface to newsgroups
and can't see that that the link Frank left you is a link. In fact, because
of the > character now prefixing the http: protocol prefix even fewer
people will be able to use it directly. Here it is again, wrapped in tags
and indented for you:

<Frank's link>
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm#Coolwebsearch
</Franks's link>

Copy the above line between the opening and ending tags
to your Address bar and press Enter (or click on the Go button).

BTW unless you are forced to use the web interface to newsgroups
you might find it much easier to read and post using a real NNTP
newsreader. Here is another *link* (which you also may have to copy
and paste to use) which will show you some better alternatives to what
you are currently using.
