New home network

I just got a new box with xp home on it, and want to add it to my home
network. i ran the xp network setup prog, but i still get the "you may not
have permission" message. this it the first time i have had this problem, but
i setup my network on the existing computers with the disk that came with my
router.

Is ther a way i can set this up without the router disk, or is that
inevitable.

Any help is appreciated.

Much love!

If you ran the wizard, and are getting this error, let's check the settings.

Start by checking for misconfigured / overlooked firewalls, and for registry
setting restrictanonymous, on each computer.

Registry setting restrictanonymous:

If no help, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer, as
a diagnostic aid. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely:

Please let us know if any of these suggestions are of any help. What you learn
may help others in the future, and that's the purpose of these forums.
