New Hardware Wizard

I have an HP printer that HP has not developed an XP
driver for. The HP site recommended installation of a
different printer driver. I did that and the printer
works fine. However, every time I log on I get the New
Hardware Wizard for the printer. Is there a way to turn
that off for this one device?

Hi,

No, not really as it is not loading the right driver for the printer in the
first place. Sometimes allowing the wizard to just run through its routine
can help, sometimes not.

Thanks for the suggestion. I ran through the wizard and
it told me there was no driver. There is a box to mark
for "don't prompt me to install this harware again". I
clicked that box....but it doesn't work. It still pops
up the wizard everytime I start the computer......
