New Hardware Wizard Detects the Printer at Startup Error

When I bootup my computer that has Windows XP Home installed I keep getting
the New Hardware Wizard stating that it has detected a printer even though I
already installed the Windows XP Unidrv Printer Driver 5.1.2600.1106 for my
Epson Stylus Color 740 printer, which is the only printer I have connected
to my computer, and is working fine. I'm even able to print the test page
successfully using the Printer Properties. Would you please tell me how to
stop the New Hardware Wizard from popping up at startup?

I tried completing the Found New Hardware Wizard when the Found New Hardware
Wizards window opens at bootup as instructed in Microsoft Knowledge Base
Article 298370. The problem I'm having in completing the wizard is that I
keep getting the following error message:

Cannot Install this Hardware
The Hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary
software.

The only option I'm given is to click the Finish button.

I then contacted Epson technical support for help and they gave me the
following reply:

Thank you for taking the time to contact Epson. It is my pleasure to
respond to your inquiry.

Windows XP has built in drivers created by Microsoft. It seems they are not
installing correctly, so every time you restart your computer, it detects
the printer again, but is unable to complete the installation. Most likely
you have the Epson drivers installed correctly, but something in Window's is
preventing the Microsoft driver to install. For assistance on this, you
must contact Microsoft directly.

Would appreciate any help anyone may have.

Just for info Your printer might have multiple drivers
for different features. And they may not have loaded
completly try running the installation disk from the
printer or go to the epson website and download drivers.

Epson technical support told me that they don't have a Windows XP driver for
my Epson Stylus Color 740 and to use the one that comes with Windows XP.
What should I do now? Got any suggestions?
