New GPO not active

G

Guido

Hello All ...

I have created a new GPO for my IT area to manage a new
set of Password Policies. The policy doesn't seem to be
active, and when the IT employees change the passwords
the Domain Password Policy is still be picked up.

There is something that I am missing but I just can't see
it.

Any help will be great.

Thanks

Guido

PSW? There is only one password policy per domain.

You can do that by setting the password policy and assigning it to the OU
that the workstations are in. I thought that you were trying to have a
different policy for domain logons. You can have different password policy
for machines but not for the domain. The local password policy will only
apply to local logons and not domain logons.

So if I understand correctly, to have this password
policy take effect the IT workstations need to be members
of this OU.

Do I just move the workstations from the computer OU into
the OU that has the policy?

Right. Remember that it is only a password policy for local accounts on the
workstation and not domain accounts.
