New Computer Email Transfer

I have a new laptop and installed Office 2003. When I connect with my email
server (att.yahoo) it begins retrieving emails from 5 years ago and wants to
deliver 27000+ emails...is there any way to stop this? I had already
transfered via .pst the inbox and sent items that I wanted to have on the new
computer. HELP!!

Connecting via POP3? You can check if Yahoo offers the option to set a date
for which emails are offered when making a POP3 connection. I know Gmail has
this option.

Otherwise, move the messages in the Yahoo mailbox to another folder so the
messages are not seen by a POP3 connection.
