Dont worry Mucks the Linux version is on the way. ;)

Go here to download the new version

How to install.

1. Exit BOINC, and check its not running in task Manager.
2. Install the new version over the top of the old one. No need to uninstall the old version and you will not loose any work. It will just carry on from the old one. :)

For a more detailed install guide go to the BOINC Wiki found here. :thumb:

I'll install it when i get home tonight and see how it goes. :user:

It has a 'simple-user' mode, Feckit.

I've installed it on a different PC this morning, and it won't connect... I think it's a mashed up build.

Just throwing the new release over an existing client now....

Sweet as a nut! (on the upgrade)

It's the build on the laptop that's borked!

Tasks continued with no issues.
I'll upgrade all my clients now.

New BOINC installed and running now. Main change is the 'simple view' (Picture one) Which i dont like! But one click of the 'Advanced view' button at the bottom and its back to how it was. ;)

In the advanced view you get a nicer looking view of your disk space, as shown in pic two. There are a few small changes, but nothing worth mentioning.

Only took a second to install too using the method i stated above. :thumb:

One thing i will say is, if you running a dual core pc just make sure to run the 'update' in the 'projects' tab. As mine defaulted to only using one core until i did that.

Ok, In V_R `s 3rd thumbnail he has showing 2 work units running simultaneously (Dual core i presume) . Now i am running Dual core but only have 1 unit running and 1 waiting to run ?. I have used the update as mentioned any ideas ?. Should i be able to run 2 together and if so what seetings do i need to change ?

I also have 2 Boinc icons in my taskbar ??

Looks to me like you may have 2 instances of Boinc running at the same time each running one unit - have a look in Task Manager and see if that is the case.

Ok - I assume you have two units running now, but I'm a bit concerned that instead of loading the new version over the old you have instead created a second instance of Boinc on your machine - this may possibly cause conflicts, so be aware of any unusual activity mate.

Make sure the WCG profile for the machine under 'On multiprocessors, at most use: has 2 selected, then click update in the Boinc Projects tab.

Sorry Ady did that about an hour ago. Might have to wait for it to kick in

You shouldn't have to wait - give 'update' another go.

I'm wondering if the new install has gone a bit wrong :(

What does it say under the messages tab when you click update?

When you upgraded to a DC did your pc recognise it? I.E do you see two CPU history graphs in task manager?
