FYI - For your investigation

A site new to acf offers several programs. The password manager is
well worth a look: one of two or three best (freeware) I've found so
far.

http://www.dexadine.com/free.html

1. Acerose Password Vault
Multiuser, network enabled, safe (up to 10 versions in multiple
locations), good interface, import/export. Described below.

2. Photo Presenter
Browser like viewer especially suitable for including on a CD.
Described below.

3. Advanced Wind Chill Calculator
Old, new ('01), and altitude adjusted calc.

4. Free Federal® Interactive Ammunition Catalog
If you have to ask, ....

Acerose Password Vault

"Organize and keep all your passwords both safe and secure." Good
user features (e.g., sort by, reorder, and resize any of the six
columns).

This is well worth a look.

SECURE
- "Uses streaming cipher built upon the SHA-1"
- "Password generator is highly configurable and graphically displays
the approximate strength." Very nice looking.
- Auto manager supports multiple users across a network
- Multiple action launch options include scripts
- Chain vaults (master vault opens sub-vaults)
- Import/export tab or comma delimited files

SAFE
- Uses flatfile instead of complex data structures (e.g., no index
pointers).
- Uses streaming cipher so single bit error only corrupts single
character (versus block cipher where entire block is corrupted)
- "Uses redundant fields for the critical user name and password
information along with automatic error detection and correction"
- "Automatic backup feature that can keep up to ten versions" (network
enabled)
- "Records recovery dialog to help you restore records you may have
inadvertently deleted"

Photo Presenter

(From site)
Photo Presenter makes it easy for anyone to view digital photos on a
PC with a minimum of program controls cluttering up the display. Photo
Presenter also makes it easy for anyone to add captions to their
photos, something that greatly adds to their viewing enjoyment both
now and especially into the future.

Photo Presenter may be freely distributed for noncommercial uses ...
[so add it] to your CD's of photos .... automatically display the
first photo or bit map when the CD is inserted ....

Features:

..... Test photos and instructions for setting colors are included in
the download.

Works with JPEG or bit map files (jpg, jpe, jpeg, bmp)

Auto Size: Sizes photos to fill the program's window. Auto size can be
turned off to view photos in their actual size.

Magnify: Displays photos at 2 power (when auto size is off) to get a
better look at details.

Captions can be added to any photo.

Table of Contents window (drive, folder, and file boxes) can be
hidden.

The program is a single file with built-in help, so it's easy to copy
it to CD-ROMs you make and distribute.

Price: FREE

Actually, all4you posted Subject: FWT Newsletter - Weekly - August 4,
2003 which included Acerose Password Vault. I agree it's a nice password
manager :) I personally finally settled on PINS though after trying
several.

Thanks for the post though. Much appreciated.

Ackkk!! Disregard previous post. Just re-read the post from all4you I
referenced. It did not include Acerose Password Vault. My mistake. Hummm,
where did I first here of that one. Don't know now. I was impressed with
it enough though to list it at NetWonder. Oh well. Thanks again though :)
