Networks?????

I posted this the other day on another newsgroup and have not heard from
anyone, I will post it again with some more info,I hope this helps.
Hello All,
I have two computers #1 runs win xp pro sp2 with all upgrades #2 runes the
same. I bought a D-link router and have both computers on the internet I
also networked them together and enabled print sharing and file sharing. The
problem is when I turn off and restart either of the computers I lost the
printer and file sharing and the network. I have to install the network
each time I shut down either one of the computers. I do not lose the
internet connection though. Does anyone know how to stop this from
happening??? Please direct me to the right group if I am in the wrong place.
Thank you in advance
Buzz
The network is still going down but when I go to computer #2 and try the
network and it will not work I go back to computer #1
and disable Norton Internet Security and then go back to computer #2 the
network is working fine, print sharing and file sharing are
working. I can then go back to computer #1 and enable Norton Internet
Security and the network is still running on computer#2 Is there something
that can be done in Norton that will fix this problem???? Thank you all in
advance. I do not use Norton AnitVirus, I use AVG Pro.

1. Ditch NIS altogether.

2. Try disabling the worm blocking feature.

3. Put your local subnet in a "trusted" zone in the firewall's settings.

Went with almost everything you suggested, If I ditch NIS what do you
suggest that I replace it with? What do you run on your system???? I already
run AVG for virus scanning and Google for pop-up stopper. What firewall do
you suggest??? Thank you for the help I could not have done it with out
YOU.Thanks again
