Networking XP Pro and NT 4

I have a very frustrating problem. I have an XP Pro machine and three
machines running NT4 workstation on a peer-to-peer network. The XP and the
NT4s cannot see each other no matter what I try. (I also have a machine in
the workgroup running 2000, and it can see everybody just fine.) I've got
file sharing enabled and all that jazz. I have enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP
on the XP machine as well as disabled the firewall. I've also installed
NetBEUI on the XP machine. Nothing. I can't understand why the 2000 can see
the NT4s and the XP Pro can't. Any other ideas out there?

A key to Windows networking is to use the same single protocol for
File and Printer Sharing on all computers.

If the existing NT4/2000 network uses NetBEUI for File and Printer
Sharing, un-bind sharing from TCP/IP on all computers. I've written a
web page with details:

Windows XP Network Protocols

If the existing NT4/2000 network uses TCP/IP for File and Printer
Sharing, un-install NetBEUI on all computers.

Hello

Are all of them on the same workgroup?
Can all the NTs see each other?
Do they reply to pings?

I would check that the workgroup name is the same for all and that at least
one account with the same password is used in all computers... This is to
make things easy.
