Start with some basic diagnostics - logs from "browstat status", "ipconfig
/all", "net config server", and "net config workstation", from each computer.
Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely
(Download browstat, and note how to start a Vista command window!):

Which error message do you get when you try to open a file?

Perhaps you have the right to read the folder, but not the
files. In Windows, files can have access rights too, and when
you move a file into a folder, it retains its previous access
rights.
