I am having problems sharing files and printers bewteen
two computers. Each can access the internet through the
router, but for some reason can not see each other. If
have gone through the home networking wizard a couple of
times with no luck.

Mike do a Google search on the term XP and 98 networking,
There are a few things that can stop it working that to even start would
take a long time to type out here.

things like firewalls, XP being an NT type OS needing passwords and valid
accounts etc

Can they ping by name, ip address.

hi, i am having the same problem as mike d.

i have a desktop connected to linksys router via ethernet 10baseT. i
have a laptop connected to linksys router via a wireless connection.
both are windowsXp. i can access the internet (aol-i know, i know!) on
both computers. but when i search my workgroup i can only see my local
computer.

in desparation i have hardcode my ip addresses & gateway on both
desktop & laptop. i can ping to router on desktop, not on laptop. i
notice with ipconfig /all ip routing = no on both computers. could this
be problem? if so, how can i can i enable. otherwise, what the heck?

thanks!
