Networking between SP1 and SP2

I am running a small office network ( 5 Macines) that operate Windows XP Pro
SP1.
I bought a laptop pre-loaded with XP sp2.
The laptop connects to the LAN, but I cant see the other PC's on the LAN.
The other PC's on the LAN can see the laptop, but cannot access it, even
when sharing the drive of the laptop.

Any suggestions

Is the firewall in the laptop properly configured for peer-to-peer
networking?

If it's the Windows XP firewall that's okay; if it's a third-party firewall
you'll probably need to uninstall it while you work this through. Many
third-party firewalls say they're disabled when they really aren't.
