Networking between home and office

Hi all,

I am running an XP Pro SP2 machine at work (hostname: GOYANWORK). It is
on the work domain (e.g.: WORK say) and I am not an admin on that
domain. Therefore I have two logins: (1) WORK\goyan, which is just a
limited user, or (2) GOYANWORK\localadmin, which is the one I normally use.

The work place is running a VPN server too, so I can join the VPN from
home (running XP Pro SP2 in workgroup MSHOME). However, I cannot access
the shared folders on GOYANWORK from home even when I logged onto the
VPN. However, I can access my computer at home from work, access of the
shared folder, VNC, etc.

By the way, I am also running Hamachi on all the machines, both at work
and home. So I always use IP of 5.x.x.x.

So, what seems to be the problem? What did I do wrong on machine at work?

Thank you for your time.

You'll need to use the WORK\goyan login to be seen from outside of the
domain, since
the VPN connects the home PC to the domain -- and the GOYANWORK PC is
not joined to
the domain when you use the localadmin login.
