Networked LAN HDD can be seen by other users but not by admin user

I (admin user) cannot see to map, my networked ext LAN drive. An other user
on my laptp can see it & its directories. I have tried several ways to get to
it, none worked.
I can access the drive from explorer but just can't get it to appear in my
network places.
