network problem over t 1 line

I have a domain spaning 2 locations connected by a t1 line with 2 cisco
routers the primary has the windows 2000sbs server this site is allso
connected to a 2nd seperate network useing a route statment on the defualt
gateway. the IP's for the primary sites are 192.168.180.xxx and the 2nd site
are 192.168.181.xxx. on the cisco router at the primary site I have added ip
nat statments for each computer at the 181.x site on the primary (180.X)
router so they would appear to be part of the 180 network so 1 of our apps
will run. The problem is the computers on the 181 network can see everything
in network neighborhood but the computers at the primary site can not see the
181.x site. I need all the computers at the 181 site to show up in nework
places so I can push software out to them is there a way to get them to show
up.

Do you have both DNS and WINS Servers at each site? Are the WINS servers
set up to push/pull replicate to each other?

I think you ansered your own question. IP NAT translates the IP addresses so
the .180 network sees everything as comping from the router's IP address.
Even with WINS, you might be able to see the computers, but you won't be
able to connect backward through the NAT. Maybe yo can ad a policy based
route to perform NAT only when accessing the server required for the
application, and to route normally to all other computers.

If both sites can see the DNS and WINS servers and are properly registering
in both servers it sounds like either a router misconfiguration or an
address range problem.

In addition to the other replies, you should probably consider sticking
another DC in the remote location, set up in a separate AD site/subnet.

You reallly don't want users authenticating over the WAN link if at all
possible....and just because you're using SBS doesn't mean you can't use
multiple DCs.
