Network Neighborhood Setup

Got the networks at home and the office working, but having the correct
resources showing up in "Network Neighborhood" had me pulling my hair out.

To get resources in, I manually add resources like folders, printers etc,
after not seeing it come up, only to see it come up "double" in a few days,
after the system somehow "discovers" it.

I bought the laptop into the office, now the resources for the office shows
up, and I can't get rid of it. Resoruces for the "home> shows up if I go to
"add network resources and browse. But when I go for "workgroup" computers,
it shows up.

Is there an easy way for the laptop to RMEMBER things so I don't have to
spend time fussing everytime I bring the laptop in.

It is easier and more efficient to simply not use Network Places at all.
Network Places is notoriously flaky.

Instead, use the Display applet to remove Network Places from your
Desktop. Then create a new folder on the Desktop called something
useful like "Network". Use the Search>For computers on the network
function and make shortcuts to the desired network shares in the
Network folder you just made.
