Network Drive continues to re-connect after disconnecting it

Here is a puzzle for me. I have a network drive that I connect to
everyday. I changed the drive letter from F to J and selected reconnect
at logon. XP now connects to J but continues to auto connect to F as
well...even though I disconnected it.

I need drive F for another device (IPOD).

How can I stop XP from reconnecting drive F to my network drive?

At a cmd prompt type "net use f: /delete" without the quotes.

I've tried that but everytime I turn on my PC, it reconnects to drive
F. It's like it is a default connection and every "disconnect" I've
tried does not work.
