network connectivity is lost when I return from standyby

I am running Windows Xp with SP2.
Exverytime my computergoes into standby and I bring it back out my network
connectivity is lost and I have to reboot inorder to access e-mail or the
internet.

Check Power Management for the network card, and un check "Allow the computer to
turn this device off to save power".

Alternatively, try these commands (from a command window) in sequence, after
coming out of standby:
"ipconfig /release"
"ipconfig /renew"

This is probably a defective driver. You've already been given
possible workarounds, but the solution would be to download a
corrected driver from the manufacturer and install that.

It could be a defect somewhere else, like in the BIOS, so update
that as well, for good measure.
