network account to admin group

Hi i visited a pc today where the user was using a network account, but the
pc was no longer attached to the network. the question is i tried to give
his account access to some local files which he had no access but when i
tried to add him i could not add his account as it was a network one but
network was not avaliable so could not browse directory. Is it possible to
grant access to a cached network account when domain is not present.

In a word no. You need to be able to contact a domain controller to add a
domain user to an access list. The domain user however should be a member of
the users group on the computer. --- Steve
