NetMeeting help please...

Please excuse if this question got posted twice.

We have a workstation that we can’t get NetMeeting to activate. It SEEMED
to install just fine. So we uninstalled it using recommended command line
%SystemRoot%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection NetMtg.Remove
132 msnetmtg.inf. That seemed to work fine as well. We then reinstalled
NetMeeting, again it seemed to install fine but we still can’t activate it.
When you click on activate it does nothing and we get no error message. We
also tried stopping the service (mnmsrvc.exe) and restarting with the app,
still nothing. It’s an XP w/SP2 and all the critical updates have been
installed. Any ideas??

Activate netmeeting?
I dont think if there is any such option like activating Windows XP.

To access Netmeeting, go to start > run > conf.exe
Follow the prompts and your netmeeting should be up and running.

Hope this helps

ok, did that. then I click on call>exit and activate remote desktop sharing.
still nothing. I'm trying to GET to the machine, not remote FROM it. when
I use netmeeting on my machine to "call" the non-functioning machine it just
sits there "waiting for a response". I'm only having this problem on this
one workstation.

Is netmeeting installed on the other machine and is it running on the other
machine where you want to connect it?

Yes. NetMeeting is installed on all of our machines. And it appears to be
running on the machine that I'm having trouble with. again, if I right click

When you usually right click on netmeeting icon on the system tray it shows
Open connection and stop netmeeting .. it doesnt shows any such option like
Activate.
Would it be possible for you to take a screenshot of it and post the link ..
that would give me a clearer picture of the problem you are facing.

You are correct...if it's running (activated). I'd be happy to post a screen
shot however not sure where to post it. is there a place in Newsgroups to
post stuff like that?
